The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) (Waliopata mkopo awamu ya nne 2024) in Tanzania has announced the allocation of loans for the fourth phase of the 2024/2025 academic year, benefiting a total of 9,068 students. This round of funding amounts to TZS 27.52 billion and includes both undergraduate and diploma students.
Loan Allocation Details
Undergraduate Students
- New Students: A total of 4,400 first-year students have been allocated loans worth TZS 13.74 billion.
- Continuing Students: Additionally, 2,646 continuing undergraduate students have received loans for the first time, totaling TZS 8.37 billion.
Diploma Students
- The allocation also includes 2,022 new diploma students, who will receive loans amounting to TZS 5.41 billion. These students are enrolled in prioritized programs at various colleges across Tanzania.
Samia Scholarship
As part of the support for students in critical fields, TZS 3.14 billion has been disbursed as scholarships to 625 beneficiaries under the ‘Samia Scholarship’ program. This scholarship focuses on areas such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Appeals Window
Students who are dissatisfied with their loan allocations or who did not receive any funding can submit appeals. The appeal window will be open from November 4 to November 10, 2024.

- Visit the HESLB Online Loan Application System (OLAMS) at HESLB OLAMS.
- Log in using your personal details to view your loan status.
